Just a follow-up Definitely needed to clear security both ways. That said, security was quick and efficient. 5-10 minutes each way to clear.

As a data point, earlier this year, the immigration line for arrivals in FRA was so much shorter than the one connecting to Schengen flights, that I went through the arrivals even though it meant I had to return through security.

Good idea - in airports such as ZRH and FRA where departing and arriving passengers mix, you can even potentially do it the other way around (go through transit and then exit even when you're arriving) as long as you only have hand luggage.

I'm new to forum. Have upcoming flight on SQ25 transferring at FRA to OS for flight to VIE (separate tickets). Flying J on both so have access to Priority check-in. Also, I've never flown through FRA.
- I assume bags can be checked at JFK all the way to VIE (do they need to be claimed in FRA to go through customs or will they automatically go to VIE)?
- If not, do I get claim at FRA, recheck there to VIE?
- Since this is a non-schengen to shengen transfer, how is the transfer from 1-B to 1-A - assume I need to go through passport control and then security?
- If flight is on time (and it seems it usually is early), I have 130 minutes for transfer - is this doable or a problem?

3. Can transfer without going through security -- you hv two options, going via tunnel or bus to Schengen. However, if you are not a Euro citizen, passport control could take longer.
4, Ultimately should be doable.

Do you have amex plat? If so, I would go to VS lounge and eat there (the VS lounge is incidentally far and away superior to the JFK centurion). J on its own gets you only access to the Wingtips lounge which moved there when LX moved to JFK T1 earlier this year. I tend to not bother on board as I find the Book the Cook options out of JFK a bit underwhelming. Tt being said, I had a decent short rib dish out of there. CC are very good in completing the service efficiently and quickly to allow for rest.

It is indeed a dinner service, as are pretty much all NY to Europe departures, whether they leave at 4pm or 11pm.

Here are also the book the cook options: https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/s...lass-new-york/ The BTC is an extra list of entrées you can choose from. These change sporadically. Usually the list is more extensive but is fairly limited on account of covid-related employment shortages.
You can review the inflight menu in your booking a month prior to your flight. The inflight menu link posted by bgriff works for your flight within ten days of your departure, otherwise it gives you an idea.

Booking two paid F seats next month, down to FRA or MXP to JFK
Going to pass SQ strictly on principle of forced masking.
Qatar hasn't asked for this in Q Suites in ages.
Assume Emirates also is actually able to understand The Science.
Sending my $12k to another carrier who doesn't require these.

It wasn't enforced on my two flights (Jan 22 and May 22) to and from SIN in Suites.

It's 2022, I thought this theater ended long ago.

Neither on mine in Suites the last few months. CC were pretty chill. Not least you are in an enclosed space of sorts. However, as it is a requirement for Singapore carriers by the SG gahman regardless of route, you may wish to fly with another carrier to avoid any on the day frustration. I do think that the risk is low for CC to ding you in Suites, even when heading to loos.

You can look up menus here: https://inflightmenu.singaporeair.com/home

EDIT: Actually the in flight menu page makes it seem like its just Dinner + a non-breakfast snack? Is that right? I don't know that I've ever gone TATL on another carrier without breakfast.

It is dinner and pre-landing "refreshment", the latter consisting usually of a noodle dish or a warm sandwich, this month the sandwich is reuben. Snacks such as candy bars, cookies, biscuits, and dried fruits or instant noodles, which do have some atas (fancy) plating are available throughout the flight.
