Just to chip in with my limited F-experience, I've travelled all the A and F seats, and find row 3 to be best with a wide isle, and then at night it doesnt matter, but if there is daylight I always go for the shaded side.
1B looks boring, same goes for the center seats.

CC - any luck with Aeroplan? I am in the same boat - my wife and I are travelling in July but only one F award seat was available so I am currently booked in J (and wife in F).

1B or 2F (even 2D on a clear day)
1B; to get some peace and quiet.
2F; as the only passing traffic is for the locker. Which is generally limited to take off and landing.
For both 1B and 2F, the space in front of 2A and 2F is usable extra space.
2D; only good for the few minutes prior to landing, when the aircraft is banking left or right. 2D has a good, uninterrupted, view through several windows on each side.
