How much do you or your company spend on PPS sector qualification?

On other forums they have small competitions to see who can qualify for least qualifying period spend.

A good way might be to divide your PPS sectors flown in to your total $ spent. So who can get the lowest spend per sector? The winner will get bragging rights to being the first PPS COCKROACH!

(I'm sure most will give this thread a wide berth :p )

Not really what I was looking for Zveda, thanks for your interest though :)

How much is a PPS sector worth (in dollars) to you!
(I'm sure most will give this thread a wide berth )

$6425 for 25 sectors first time qualifying, $257 per sector.
$5930 for 26.25 sectors to requalify this year and 12.5 next year (if averaging still works). $153 per sector.
No revenue to SQ for the next two years as I will be back to being a poor student, though I will be burning plenty of miles and sitting in 17A everytime ^

All straightforward itineraries with places I really needed to go to and no mileage/sector runs in there (apart from two flight number changes at HKG), so I'm quite sure I won't end up as the cockroach :)

A lot, but it's worth it.

Hmmm... exactly my opinion about spending on SQ premium classes. :)

CAD 8,216 (about USD 7,500 I think ?) for 26.25 sectors first time qualifying (so about USD 280 per sector) - CRWSTAR2 with about 82% on SQ, nearly all of which I will do over a fortnight and a half this August. Plus the cost of flights to start/end the RTW and to go to/from home after the initial portion.

Not intended to be a PPS run originally - just another holiday, I wanted to visit YVR and thought it'll be fun to take J (with only a single J flight on UA up to now!) and the long way round on SQ metal as much as possible and visit again SIN, PEK and NRT. However, I thought I might as well qualify for PPS whilst I'm at it so I have a couple of turnarounds and stopovers in places I wouldn't otherwise have gone to, e.g. SGN and BKK.

Wholeheartedly agree! ^

Not a trivial job to work out since many tickets include non SQ flights.

;)
Value to me : :D

Specifically why?

I have just flown Raffles on 5 sectors, and albeit nice, it's not that much better than economy -seriously!
