SQ 744 in YVR? When was the last time?

Currently SQ's flights in/out of YVR uses the 777. But as I was browsing through some aviation photography, there were two that showed an SQ 744 rovering in YVR take a look:

I don't recall the last time an SQ744 flew into YVR. Did they really operate the 744 on the SIN-ICN-YVR route in the past or was this just a last minute equipment switch? If they did operate the 744 in the past, why was it downgraded into the A340 and now the 777

Could the Megatop have been used for VIP (Singaporean Cabinet Minister or Prime Minister) visit to YVR? APEC was held in Novemver 1997 in Vancouver so that can't be it...... just my 2 cents worth....

Yes SQ flew both the B743 and B744 into YVR in the late 90's , early 2000. Then switched to A340 when that aircraft came into the fleet. SQ did not enjoy the loads between Seoul - Canada as it does now. Hence the eventual downgrading of aircraft size.

Now as most transpacific thin routes are operated by 2 class B777-200ERs, the SIN-ICN-YVR route has this aircraft type too.

Weird. Once during a tech stop at YVR on CX, I swear I saw a SQ 747 on the tarmac parked at the gate.
