Sin-hnl?

Is SIN-HNL a plausible route? I have to fly this once or twice a year and I'm tired of having to change planes at NRT or KIX. It would be so nice to fly nonstop on SQ.

That's what I figured was likely. It was clear that it would not support 3 cabin service.

In the old days SQ1 stopped in HNL on the way from SFO to HKG

I do not see this happening

The only high yield I can see with a SIN-HNL are FT MRers who want extra mileage by stopping in HNL. Otherwise, there's no big market. If anything's going to happen with HNL right now, it'll be China.

Until 1991?, SQ1/2 route was SIN-HKG-HNL-SFO and SQ5/6 route is SIN-TPE-HNL-LAX. Both flights were used B747-312 BIGTOP. By the way, when did SIA start SQ15/16 SIN-SEL(GMP)-SFO and SQ17/18 SIN-SEL(GMP)-YVR?

Thank you for the exhaustive list. I think I'll stick with SIN-NRT-HNL on SQ and UA.

Sin-hnl

Hi didn't feel right posting a new thread so am asking the questions here. I hope you guys are able to help me. I have 2 questions. 1st question is according to my itinerary below

5th Jan 05 SIN-HNL NH
20th May 05 HNL-SIN NH
1st Sep 05 SIN HNL NH
20th Dec 05 HNL SIN NH
15th Jan 06 SIN-HNL NH or UA

Do I qualify for KF Silver? That's all the travel I'll be doing in 2005 as I'll be studying in Hawaii. Booking class is M on NH.

2nd question is I might be able to squeeze some travelling in during the 3 months I'll be back in Singapore, any advise on how to qualify for KF Silver if the answer for question 1 is that I do not qualify. Another thing is during the 3 months I do no mind spending some money to qualify for PPS, are you able to advise an itinerary departure from SIN that will qualify for the 25 sectors needed and the likely cost? Somewhere ard S$6k?? If you can advise an itinerary that qualifies for the 25 sectors at a lesser cost, I'll be really grateful.

Thanks in advance and I really love this forum, it's really informative...

I do recall very distinctly taking on the 3rd of april 1988 SQ16 SIN-TPE-HNL-LAX. twas a 743 (9V-SKA) . Took another 743 (SQ15 coming home exactly the opposite direction 8april). N124KK it was.

I didn't know there was such a thing as raffles or first. I thought my Y seat was as good as it got. Krisworld was some big screen movie. ended up listening to an easy listening channel and i must have gotten 5 or 6 laps round the entire compilation from HNL-TPE. George Micheal's father figure was a track on that playlist that i remember - crossing the vast expanse of the pacific in the dark listening to that track is eerie.

Sorry for dragging this thing off topic. just brought back some memories of what flying was like then for me

KrisVision, it was called then .
Then, Personal Cinema System (PCS) came into First and Raffles Class.
Several years later, we were blessed with KrisWorld then Wisemen.

According to *A mileage calculator
5/1
SIN NRT NH 3311miles
NRT HNL NH/UA 3831miles

20/5
HNL NRT NH/UA 3831miles
NRT SIN NH 3311miles

1/9
SIN NRT NH 3311miles
NRT HNL NH/UA 3831miles

20/12
HNL NRT NH/UA 3831miles
NRT SIN NH 3311miles

Total: 28568 KF miles... ^ You'll be KF Silver

AFAIK, there is no single round trip (with only one destination) making you able to earn 25 sectors departing from sin in BUSINESS. By the way, PPS sector are only for BIZ/1ST travels:-)
I suppose that best choice for you could be Round The World with SQ in Biz Class but i'm not sure you'll get 25 PPS sectors (without a complex RTW).

First, welcome to FT!

According to the GCMC, SIN-NRT-HNL is 7143 miles. 4x7143=28,572.
So, assuming you get 100% mileage accrual for an NH M fare, yes, you would qualify.
