SQ or LH

Flying oneway BLR-EWR in C class. Both LH and SQ do this route. Both leave at the same time, but SQ arrives about 6 hours later (and involves the services of the new nonstop).

Which would you select?

If I don’t miss anything, these are your two options:

Option 1 (8.483 miles):
BLR-FRA LH 755 0115-0730
FRA-EWR LH 402 1320-1600

b) FRA-JFK SQ 26 0830-0945

Option 2 (11.505 miles):

BLR-SIN SQ 429 2355-0655
SIN-EWR SQ 22 1205-1700

Assuming the price of the ticket is no issue, I would opt for 1b (if possible), otherwise for 2.

It depends on what your objectives are. If you don't care at all about FF mileage or status, then I would agree with Patron. I already have Gold status with both LH and SQ and so I would choose 1b or 2 depending on whether I was in a hurry, needed some SQ PPS sectors to maintain status, felt like trying the new SIN-EWR ultra-longhaul, etc.

I would go with SQ.... but LH is nothing to complain about.

I don't think you can sum it up any better than that! ^

Go with option 2. SQ longhaul C shall be heaps better than LH any day across the board.

With India in particular, LH flights are almost always packed to the hilt, with op-ups etc in all classes, and IMO service is not as good on the ex India routes, as opposed to other routes (even in F, let alone C).

SQ No question

If you go for quality go SQ
Have been in C on LH and SQ recently from sin to europe
FRA and CDG and SQ business class is just a much better product. Better seats, better entertainment and better service. Always talked to by name, very nice and even in the galley they remember your name. Plenty of runs with water through the cabin....
LH is not bad but compared to SQ it is defnitely behind.
If you catch one of the few planes with new business class LH should at least make up for the seating disadvantage.
