Strange pricing from SQ
Hi
I've just been playing around with some future travel plans - using SQ website at this stage.
The fare coming back seemed higher than normal (maybe its full and Ive been on discount biz in the past?). So I check some other destinations. Going only to SIN I got basically the same fare ex AKL - ie the short extra leg is basically free. But where it gets really wierd is when I put in a long haul sector from SIN the price drops - so much so that it looks like an economy fare rather than biz but class definitely says Raffles. So to sum up, AKL-SIN or AKL-SIN- (destinations nearby) prices higher than I expect, but AKL-SIN- (further long haul) comes out much much less.
I didnt check too many dates so may be very limited circumstances.
If anyone wants more details to take advantage of the anomaly PM or email me as this board is public. Please let me know if I should delete this post.
Now I'm having to think whether I want another long haul trip as a MR in biz. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

Is pricing so low that you can call it a MR...? Whats the ballpark figure for all-in cost per mile?

PPS run?
One could perhaps call it a PPS run. The price between is 0.11 and 0.12 USD per mile or, more interestingly, less than 2000USD for 12.5 PPS sectors. Not too bad for SQ business class. If I were in AKL, I would be tempted, but it's not so exciting that I would fly to AKL from Europe to do a run.

WOW !!!!
Less than $2000 for 12.5 PPS Sectors is indeed a bargain!!! Lets not forget that pretty much half the yearly requirement...
