KrisFlyer Programme Changes and Enhancements 2025

Updates to the KrisFlyer programme | Singapore Airlines

a few changes to krisflyer. my immediate reaction is the devaluation isnt as bad as i feared it could be. a 5% increase for saver is acceptable to me. as advantage has a much bigger increase, and with the new access redemption option, i do worry if there will be reduced availability for saver awards or that most of them will end up reserved for PPS. guess we will have to wait and see

access redemption could be interesting depending on how sq price it

The miles game is getting harder with card nerfs and devaluation thou the devaluation doesn't seems so bad.

So far my redemption I tried to book 9-12months in advance because I like to have confirmed booking so I can make my plans. Only once I booked advantage rate because of the free stopover from Sin to LAX with a few days in tokyo.

Definitely getting harder with supply and demand side squeezes. Banks are also making it harder to chalk up large amounts of points with bonus caps. I wonder if the heyday of the miles game is over in Singapore

You ever check the various flight award Facebook groups? There are a lot of people who have accumulated ungodly bags of miles and points. Getting harder to earn but the miles are floating around.

from what i understand, access redemption spaces is SQ's version of dynamic pricing. it is most likely more expensive (depends on demand too i guess) and opens up extra spaces on top of the current adv.sav

Its not so bad. The increase on average is 5% across most J and F redemptions except for that significant 10% increase for Africa/Turkey/ME. And we still have till end Oct to book that 13 hour flight in Business Class from Singapore to Cape Town for only 56.5k miles!

carrotjuice Aug 26, 2025 5:59 am

IST at 56,500 is moot. No Saver available from now to a year out.

epigram Aug 26, 2025 6:32 am

More or less given up on saver for past year or so. Just grabbed advantage if available
Only savers I've snagged were saver upgrades on mid routes
Hopefully new chart will mean slightly better availability?

I'm pretty much done with them. Used to be gold for a couple good years when I was using them for business travel, then dropped to silver and retained it over these years but what I don't like is not being able to extend expiring miles. Probably going to lose SQ silver come year end and just keep maintaining oneworld sapphire.

Does anyone know how they will handle saver award tickets booked now under the old chart if I have to change to a different flight on the same day if saver becomes available?

i think you would have to pay the higher fare. when you make a change today, you have to pay a fee if appliable plus the difference in miles, so the same applies

Date changes (for the same route) will still be honored at the OLD Saver rate.

But if you change from Saver to Advantage (even for the same route) after the new chart comes in, you pay the NEW Advantage rate.

it depends on what change you are talking. if it is a date change, then the ticket doesnt need to be cancelled and reissued. but it seems you are talking about a route change, then the ticket has to be
