SQ Booking Business Advantage Error
Hi, I was searching for a flight between MNL to SFO for 10/23/2023 and the system stated that my itinerary qualifies for a complimentary stopover which we would like to take advantage of and the system stated that SIN is the qualified stopover. I adjusted and selected SIN as the stopover and added 10/26/2023 as the departure going to SFO. After determining that the flight was available for two because it allowed me to go the last page that I don't have enough miles to proceed, I then decided to transfer points from my Amex and Chase accounts. After the points showed up in my account, I tried to book the same flights below:Leg 1: 10/23/2023 (MNL to SIN SQ 915)Stopover in SIN for 4 daysLeg 2: 10/26/2023 (SIN to SFO SQ 34) Total miles for 2: 257,000 Business Advantage (includes 1 free stopover) However, after entering the passenger details (for me and my wife) and proceeding to the payment section, the system gave us an error stating "We cannot process your request right now. Please try again later, or get in touch with your local Singapore Airlines office." which I did but they said that they can't resolve the issue because they said that the award is not showing up on their end. After discussing the issue with customer care rep, customer care rep was able to book Leg 1 and Leg 2 separately but told me that I could book them but it will cost more miles on my side because it will not be a stopover anymore but I declined her resolution since I believe that it is not fair for me to pay more because of a system error. I called the US phone number customer care three times and contacted them via chat and no one is able to help me. Any recommendations on what should I do next? Thanks.

Surely if you have a booking reference for the journey they should be able to view that reservation? Or did it not save to your account when you went away to transfer points?

SQ stopover award might be showing some phantom availability. Or someone else might have grab the award.
encounter this before for SIN-NRT(stopover)-LAX. I believe that if the original date (ie) 23/Oct is showing waitlist for MNL-SIN-SFO and when you choose stopover, and change the date of the SIN-SFO (which is showing available), it will encounter error as the availability for that married segment for that particular date is not available. So you can’t make use of a stopover to create the award. I just try 22/Oct (MNL-SIN) and 25/Oct (SIN-MNL) and it allow me to select both flights. But gotten Same error msg when going to payment. and I try 23/Oct n 25/Oct, it put me on waitlist instead despite both individual flight available. best bet is waitlist the segment first. if not secure SIN-SFO and book MNL-SIN in September under spontaneous escape at 16800 miles. Or pay cash (US125 per pax for Y or US440 for J). |
