Adding Route to Existing Reservation - Best Way?

I have a booking SIN-LHR in F with miles but I will be flying from MNL to SIN. I plan to book a flight to SIN but wondering if I can just ask SQ to add an itinerary from MNL-SIN instead of booking a separate ticket. The mileage amount for SIN-LHR is the same as MNL-LHR. I though I read somewhere that an itinerary can be added without additional cost/miles. Of course, F class is not available MNL-SIN so it will be in J if ever it can be done. What's possible or the best way to go in this scenario? Would appreciate any thoughts, especially from those who have done it. Would also appreciate instructions/guidance. Thank you.

You can try to call n ask and most likely CS will tell you no availability.

There is married segment issue and most likely you need to find award J availability in MNL-SIN-LHR. But be prepared to hear the CS saying no.
bent and DiamondMile like this.

Adding on to sbs2716g comment,
SQ likes to use the term married segment very loosely!

Reason being (using your example MNL SIN LHR):
1. You could add on any flight to your itinerary BEFORE ticket issuance. (MNL SIN in your case).
2. Same applies to deletion of any segment before issuance. (SIN LHR as an example).

Understood you have ticketed, But If married segment applies, the above 2 points should not even be possible. As mentioned, do try your luck.

Aside form the married segment issue, you won't be able to add the MNL-SIN segment and use SIN as a 'stopover' on your way to LHR unless you booked SIN-LHR at Advantage rates. From last year, SQ removed the option to stopover in SIN on Saver tickets. Now you can only do so on Advantage rates and the stopover in SIN can be max 30 days.

Unless you paid advantage rates for SIN-LHR, you'll need to pay the entire amount for a MNL-SIN award in J.

I did pay advantage rate on the route. Will try to chat with SQ rep to see what can be done. Thanks.

I have added PEN-SIN on J to a SIN-LHR on F saver.

Booked SIN-LHR online with miles then called up to add PEN-SIN. There was plenty of availability in J online so the agent had no problems. Charged me 28 USD extra. 25 USD for change fee and 3 USD in taxes.

Was the connection time in SIN greater than 24hrs?

Ah - no issue then. Had it bene longer than 24hours, it wouldn't have been allowed with a Saver award ticket.
