JFK-SIN SQ23 Blocked Seats

I recently booked J for both me and my wife through a broker and got perhaps a 40% discount. However when I pulled up the reservation on the SingaporeAir mobile app I am not able to select any seats all at.

Checked ExpertFlyer and saw that rows 10-17 are blocked at the moment. 19E & 19F are shown as available but aren’t selectable for me. Everything else is occupied.

It looks like I will need to wait to T-48h to select seats? But not still not sure why l cannot select 19F &19K at the moment, even though it’s available if you book direct.

Yep already did that. They said seats in row 19 blocked, even though EF shows as available. Not sure what’s going on.

Row 19 is often blocked for PPS. This block for PPS will not show on EF.

I'm more curious about the entire front cabin being blocked. I just checked EF and this entire cabin block is now consistent. I did some dummy bookings and as a TPPS, I'm unable to select any seat in the front cabin for all foreseeable months.

My flight is on December 26 and yeah when I confirmed with SQ rep, was told they will be made available during checkin only.

Could be due to weight and balance issue meaning they want to ensure even distribution of pax - some to back of aircraft as well? Perhaps quite a few seats already selected in the front cabin.

Per EF...I saw a sprinkling of seats in the front cabin as reserved which I assume were selected before the cabin was blocked. On another dummy booking attempt the flight simply did not show as available to purchase where EF showed the rear J cabin as full and the front blocked. If it were a weight balance thing this wouldn't be new, no?

Just to confirm, I can select 19F or K (19A and D are reserved) on Dec 26. So indeed it's a PPS block. Those are the last two seats available for selection per my view (and yes, the front cabin is blocked).

Thanks for confirming!!

19A&D open up when you add infants as they have the bassinets.

Er, no thanks to that row or the two behind.

Had thought they went away from blocking bassinet seats I guess not.

Yes, 19 A and K are available to pax flying with a baby on the ULR (19D is not a bassinet seat). On the Long Haul it is 19, A,D,F, and K. But these seats are also available to PPS. Rarely have I ever encountered a baby.

By the way, your seat map is from the Medium Haul A350. I don't fly this variant as much...I seem to recall SQ holding 12 A and K for PPS rather than 11 as row 12 is seen as preferred due to seat away from the aisle (don't recall if this applies as well to second cabin).

The whole front J cabin being blocked for months doesn't sound like weight balancing or such. That would be a very radical, intrusive move. Maybe rather some seat controller shenanigans or such. Would hope it sorts itself out. YMMV

My flight is on the week of 12/19. Up until today the whole front J cabin and most of the rear J cabin seats were greyed out. To my surprise, the whole front cabin became available (except 10a & row 11) for selection when I checked this morning.

Yes i saw as well! Just snagged seats in row 12. Will wait for t-48 to see if row 11 is available.
