50 Mins transit time

I am flying CPH to BKK via SIN all on Singapore airlines (single ticket) - my layover in SIN as 50 minutes. The connection is obviously valid as I booked the journey on Singapore Airlines own website but my question is if this short connection time is normally achievable. I will also have checked bags so keen to hear others experiences of if the connection time is good and if luggage tends to make it onto the next flight.

If you're arriving 0620 hrs then yes the next connecting flight to BKK is 710 hrs and on a single ticket, the airline has the obligation to put on on the next available flight (0820 hr) should you be unable to connect. just an hour more to relax :)

You ask if the connection is "normally" achievable - yes it is. But we are not operating in normal times, and I suspect if when you are travelling flights are continuing to avoid Russian airspace, this connection will be difficult to achieve (arrival times this week have been 06:46, 07:02, 08:01, 06:53, 07:36; 07:16,06:52). With the gate closing at 07:00, if lucky these could be achievable on the 06:46, 06:52 and 06:53 arrivals, but probably none of the others. As you are on the same ticket. as Squeezy mentioned you will be protected onto the next flight to BKK. Note though this is the 09:30 flight to BKK - and if that is full then there is a 12:50 - the above mentioned 08:20 is a codeshare on Scoot - and not sure if they would transfer passengers onto Scoot flights.

The answer is YES you will make it
usually arrival time is 30 to 50 minutes earlier then your ticket indicates (flying from Europe to Asia)
even if you have 30 minutes in Singapore you can still make it
there will be someone from SIA to help you transfer fast
I have done this a lot of times

If it's a valid connection sold by SQ, you'd have nothing to worry about.

50 minutes to connect between flights at Changi T3 is perfectly manageable, slightly stressful if the BKK flight departs from T1 as SQ has been trying to spread their load between the two terminals - may require a brisk walk soon after deplaning.

Not at the moment I'm afraid, with the Russian airspace issues:

you are right
Copenhagen is tricky at the moment
but in the worst case scenario the will give the passengers the next flight to Bangkok

SQ is very good at monitoring connections. They'll probably meet you the gate if your inbound is running late - either with a buggy or new boarding passes for the next available flight. Luggage shouldn't be an issue either way.

With multiple BKK flights throughout the day, there's nothing to stress about.

Another datapoint, due to delays at MAN last month, our 2hr connection at SIN turned into 45 mins, basically enough time to disembark and walk the length of T3 to board PER flight. As it turned out, all MAN passengers’ luggage misconnected so were loaded on the next flight and couriered to home next morning, so although frustrating at the time, worked out well.

With the frequency of BKK flights, in the slim chance your luggage doesn’t travel with you, it’ll get to BKK soon after. Standing in the queue to report missing luggage is the worst part…

Plus you get to claim travel insurance that kinda subsidises your trip! :tu:

Before times, I was on a flight that was delayed arriving and had only 20 minutes to make the connection - that's 20 minutes to disembark and get to the gate. Fortunately it was the same terminal. I made it with time to spare and so did my checked bags. I like Changi (sometimes).

I had a flight from CPH delayed, taking my connection to PER down to 30 mins. Landed at one end of the airport and next flight was departing from literally the opposite end of the airport. Both I and my bag made the flight, as did a few others connecting from CPH. There were no buggy’s to make the trek faster, so it is possible. Pushed back maybe 10 mins late
