At the moment it is a bad airport or get stuck at during transit. Transit pax are taken to a specific area where they must wait until boarding commences. They can’t use the full facilities of the airport. Not sure if that will still be the case in 5 months time, but wouldn’t bet on it changing by then.

I did forget to mention, the one exception is that transit pax can book a transit hotel and will receive an escort between the dedicated transit area and the room and vice versa. Such rooms however, aren't cheap at the moment.

Sounds almost like being escorted by police except in this case without doing anything wrong lol

SQ will just refund you the difference in miles or offer to cancel and redeposit the entire mileage without penalty

Just an update, my F advantage in Dec 2020, has been downgraded to J advantage (after calling in), even if J advantage is not even able to waitlist online for new booking.

If this happened to me I'd be pissed. I booked a F advantage award at a time when there were J saver awards available. If they are going to downgrade me to J then I want a refund equivalent to the difference between F advantage and J saver.

That is true. I'm not prepared to argue with them about this yet, until I'm really going to fly.

They are not servicing HKT again yet. They are reopening SIN-BKK in December (BKK-SIN flights already operating). I guess they're betting on foreigner entry into Thailand as still being difficult or impossible (depending on point of origin) .

Flight is in Dec 2020. SIN - LHR - SIN. Of which, LHR - SIN was the F, that I specially booked in advantage for the new suites! At point of booking, F was available from 1 Dec onwards.
However, it seems now that I will still be required to undergo 14 day quarantine upon my return to SIN (UK has put Singapore without a requirement to quarantine on arrival). Which makes the 3 day work trip (+ few days extra due to availability of SQ flights) to be rather unlikely. Not much point for me to file a complain now, to get a full refund of my miles/ticket later. So unless Singapore government comes up with something to shorten the quarantine period that I'm eligible for, I will not be travelling (and hence no point for me to file a complaint).

with the current infection rate in U.K., don’t think SG gov will remove the quarantine. They might even add in swab test requirement before boarding.
