Krisflyer Announces 6 Month Extension for Expiring Miles

"Thank you for your support of Singapore Airlines.
You have KrisFlyer miles that will be expiring between September and December 2020.
In view of the Covid-19 outbreak, we will be extending the validity period of your KrisFlyer miles by six months, and they will now expire between March 2021 and June 2021 respectively. For example, KrisFlyer miles expiring on 30 September 2020 will now be valid until 31 March 2021 after the extension."

Disappointing. SQ could extend longer. And SQ could have done it sooner.

I mean you can always book in Spring 2021 for a trip in early 2022. Seems like quite a while right?

The whole thing has lasted more than 3 months. Then a 6-month extension? Really mean better than nothing.

They already announced 6 month extensions in April for miles expiring during April to August. So for those who had miles expiring in April, they would have been extended to expire in October, and one presumes they will now be extended to April 2021.

Depending on how things shake out over the rest of the year, there is always a chance they will extend again. If not, you can always pay a very minimal fee to extend them once. By that point, you'd be talking late 2021 with the option to schedule travel for basically any point in 2022. Seems pretty decent to me.

confirm that those that have been extended for April to june will be further extend for another 6 months. (But I tot the previous msg was for miles between April n sept) so need to check on that.

Edit: just read through. Only for apr to jun mile will be further extended another 6 months. So June 2020 expiry will have new expiry of June 2021. But for July 2020 expiry, they will expire at Jan 2021.
