Difference Between An "A"-Code F Booking And An "F" Code Booking

Hi all,

I've upgraded my outbound segment from Business to First (paid), and notice that it's an A-class fare, as opposed to an F-class fare. It's SIN-AKL, if you're curious.

Besides price, what else would distinguish the former from the latter, as it seems odd to me to have a discounted First rate for two of the four seats (I would have thought all would have been full-fare "F" coded)?

Lastly, as opposed to SQ J, what can I expect in terms of inflight service?

Not unusual, if there are 4 F seats SQ often would sell F4 A2. In Suites could be F12 A6 or at least F12 A4. Especially AKL is not that F heavy demand wise, especially not paid. YMMV.

Just part of revenue management to maximise yields.

In first you get amenity kit and pajamas, much more attentive service, better food & beverages.
