A350 business bulkhead ottoman shared dining
 

We will travel with the kids. Does Singapore Airlines accomodate shared dining (adult in seat, kid seated on the ottoman)? I could not find any information, did a search.

They do have their own seats (10 and 11 yrs old). Does it fit? Is it possible?

First of all, at 10 and 11 of course they're required to have their own seats, but are those seats ticketed in the same cabin as you?

yes, they are.

I think the tray table might not have space for two, and would be very far from the ottoman.

I once sat next to a couple (I was at the window single seat) who decided they couldn't bear to sit apart in side by side seats and squeezed into a single seat for mealtimes. The crew squeezed their plates onto a single tray table.

So I guess if the ottoman doesn't work out the 10/11yo can sit with you in your seat.

It will be the ottoman or their own seat, no desire to sit in 1 seat with the family...

IIRC the ottoman doesn't have a seatbelt, so sitting there, let alone dining, should not be allowed. If the seat belt sign came on they'd have to move back to their seats.

i wouldn't bank on the crew allowing this, despite the report upthread that it was allowed on one occasion.

Go ahead the bulkhead can comfortably fit 2 persons for dining so long as your kid has a ticketed buisness class ticket for himself. One on the chair and one on the ottoman.

both dining in the same seat is also fine as the seat is Super Wide

always done that with my +1 in On the 77w and a350 J... just have to be careful of your movements as all the plates are squeezed together on the table 😂

just take note of the seatbelt sign if its on then everyone has to go back to their own seats.

ps: the crew might ask your kid to be on the seat and you on the ottoman though as some of them have said there are no seatbelts in the ottoman and kids might not be able to balance themselves properly sitting half angled on it 😄

No seat belt. Sitting there shouldn't be allowed. If you are, it is an exception, and don't be disappointed if they crew politely decline.

(But aside from that, I can't see why anyone would want to risk their safety just to eat together. Sudden turbulence can cause serious injury, and a plane having to divert inconveniences other passengers.)

I vaguely remember one of the warning labels saying not to sit on it

As the pictures from DiamondMile show and from own experience in the seat, even for a child, I have no idea how you would sit there comfortably on the "ottoman" ( which is a stretch to call it that).

They'll just want to sit in their own seat, eat and watch movies.

Do an Internet search for “clear-air turbulence” and you’ll see why using ottomans that don’t have seatbelts as seats for an hour or two for dinner is a bad idea.

Thanks for all the replies and helpful insights. Based on the dimensions of the "ottoman" and the lack of a seatbelt, it really doesn't fit the bill for shared dining.
