KrisFlyer-- Charged Per Segment?

I'm trying to book LGA to SEA through Krisflyer and found a saver flight with a connection in ORD. KrisFlyer lists a price of 12,500 miles, but when I go to book, the total changes to 25,000 miles. I have confirmed that I am only searching for a single adult and not two passengers.

Is this a bug of the KrisFlyer website, or does SQ really charge per segment?

EDITó Resolved. SQ oddly charges per segment on one-way Star Alliance awards.

It's a system glitch. Correct pricing is 12,500 miles + US$5.60.

It is charging you as though you are having a stopover in ORD (>24h), not a layover. SQ confirmed they are aware of the issue with UA domestic redemptions and are working to resolve it. In the meantime you can still search availability online, but call KrisFlyer to book (at the correct miles rate!).
