Post Sq992 / sq993 sin-hkt-sin

Re-checking prices/schedules for my travel dates in early July, I see that SQ has scheduled a single mainline 777-200 on the SIN-HKT-SIN sectors at the exact same time as my original Silkair flights. A look at the inventory reveals that my MI-operated flight, as well as the flight immediately before mine, have been closed out with the exception of Z and Y, leading me to believe that those flights could be removed from the schedule and replaced with SQ.

I assume this is related to the 737-MAX groundings, but I'm hoping the resident SQ experts can shed some light on when/how the reservations department will make it official, as my PNR still shows the MI sectors. As far as I'm aware, SQ hasn't flown SIN-HKT in the last 10-15 years (perhaps they did before?) so this is an interesting new add.

Can they bring back PEN too?

There've been some interesting substitutions because of the 7M8 fiasco. KUL has been getting some resurrected SQ services that haven't existed for over a decade.

SQ992/993 will run from July to Oct. the MI flight at the same timing will be cancelled. Think they Are now starting to transfer the paxes over to the SQ flight.

Do you know if the earlier MI751 / 752 is also canceled? Inventory is zeroed out on that as well.

think SQ is cancelling that flight as well. Most likely they are putting the paxes of the two flights into SQ992/993. SQ992/993 seem to be operating under the timing of M1751/752 in Sep.

I just received the notification this morning that my flight was changed to the SQ993 on July 24 from HKT to SIN from Silk Air. The 777-200 of this flight...how is the aircraft? I looked it up on SeatGuru, but there are 2-3 versions of the 777-200 on SQ. I'm flying in business class. I can't view the seat map on the SQ site since my changed ticket hasn't been fully processed yet.

Based on EF, it's a 2-2-2 config business class. Would probably be an upgrade from the 737 seat anyway.
