KrisFlyer miles top off
 

Hey Guys,
Planning to book 2 one way business class from SFO-BLR around Dec 2nd week.
I'm planning to transfer all of my 180k Chase UR points to KF to book 2 business class one way. I checked Chase travel portal & SA online booking.
Chase portal shows 202,000 pts for each & SA shows 109,000 each. So, I'll be needing 39,000 to top off.
My question is:
-does SA allows that many miles (39k) to top off?
- how much currently SA charges for block of 1k KF miles?

Any advise is appreciated.

You can complete the form to request for the miles top-up:

So long as you have 50% miles required to redeem the award, you can top-up the rest. The charges will be USD40 per 1K miles, which is pretty expensive.

Can this online top up be done in order to waitlist some flights?

I am about 2k miles short of a redemption. The flights I want need to be waitlisted but I cannot see the option to mile the miles I am short before I can waitlist.

you will be prompt to top off once the waitlist is cleared.

chicken & the egg it seems. I cant click past NEXT to lock in the waitlist being short the miles, yet it doesnt give me an option to top up the miles to enable the waitlist.

how about giving them a call, it will be easier to sort it out through an agent. all the best.

For the record, this did the trick. They manually waitlisted the flight which I could not do online but said that the points top off/purchase will happen when the waitlist comes through and the ticket is bookable.

So there is no way to top up points online for a waitlist flight (I suppose that would result in a bit of a hack if you just wanted to buy expensively priced KF miles for some reason ).
