SIN-CPT reward in J using Virgin UK Flying Club miles ?

Hi there all -

I am looking to try to get an SQ reward flight in J using my Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles here in the UK (not velocity miles)
for SIN-CPT in March 2020 -
but so far all this week when calling the Flying Club on requesting a seat it always comes back as a no from SQ (no in Y too)

Would anyone know please if this route is embargoed for Virgin FC rewards or should I wait a bit - plus if there any way to check the reward availability other than calling Flying Club all the time for them to make a request to SQ for a reward booking...

many thanks R

Other ppl may have better experience, but I tried a few times to get a Virgin HKG-LHR flights using KrisFlyer miles and never managed to get anything also. I am not even sure they release seats to each other at all lol.

There is a rider beneath Flying Club’s SQ table that indicates several aircraft type (those equipped with Long haul business seats) on which J awards are not made available. I believe the CPT route is one of those routes as it is operated by long haul A350s.

Yes, thanks for the replies - I'm aware of the SQ aircraft type embargo for VS redemptions in J or F - But the SIN-CPT is not even available in Y sadly.

I can buy a ticket on SQ in J next March for my routing BKK-SIN-CPT for around GBP1600 which is a very good fare for Biz class.

Weirdly the SQ SIN-CPT fare is over GBP3000 !!!

Not weird at all.... direct flight from home base? They know they can sell to folks who are more time poor than cash poor! From BKK they are competing with all other 1 stop itineraries surely?
