New SQ a380 routes?

Apart from LHR, SYD, PKG, ZRH, HKFG, is there news of any more routes with the new A380 products? FRA/JFK maybe next?

According to some reports, London (SQ308/321) n Sydney (SQ222/231)will get the new suites from 1st sept. The actual date might be earlier or later depending on the refit progress.

My wish is that buy some more A380s as I love flying them, but I'm sure business costs will restrict them from doing so.

Most likely, SIN-FRA-JFK will be the last flights to get the new A380 Suites, right?

I hope those reports are correct. I'm booked on SQ222 in October.

Edit: Thanks - just read: https://mainlymiles.com/2019/01/23/m...efitted-a380s/ and as a result, I have changed our seat selection to 1A and 2A for this flight (presuming, if it does swap, they will maintain our selection).

Frankfurt-JFK is confirmed after Jun1.

9V-SKQ is the retrofitted aircraft and it's flown SQ26/SQ25 twice now since Jan 6. Beijing will probably appear with Frankfurt-JFK since the retrofitted aircraft flies that regularly if you follow it on FlightAware.

It took a bit of some digging around, but that switch to the 441-seater from the 379-seater almost guarantees that the new suites are flying round the clock after Jun 1 on the Frankfurt and JFK route. That route requires 2 planes and a second plane is already in the shop for retrofitting --> 9V-SKS.

I have seen the first retrofitted aircraft 9V-SKQ fly to LHR, SYD and ZRH. LHR and SYD were the second frequencies with the old configs. FRA-JFK perfectly pairs with SIN-BJS too and 9V-SKQ flies Beijing regularly.

The second retrofitted aircraft 9V-SKS should come out just in time for the Osaka KIX service to end. I calculated the production timeline and their proposed completion date and they can only spend between 4 to 5 months per aircraft on two retrofit lines to complete the project by end of 2020. 9V-SKS has been in the hangar almost 3 months.

I thought 9V-SKF would have been the third plane to be retrofitted, but it's up and flying again after about 7-10 days in the hangar.

The 441-seater isn't the version that has the 6 suites though. The 441 seater doesn't have the new suites unfortunately. I'm flying in the Suites on the SIN-FRA-JFK route in July. My fingers are crossed that I will be able to experience the new suites when I fly.

You are off by 1 digit... 471 is the new 6 Suites config, not the 441 version.

SQ25/26 need 3 xA380. Even if the old A380 are refitted, it will be the last one to get the refitted planes as it will be difficult to reserve 3 A380 for SQ25/26. Or else, every now n then they will get complain when the plane are being swapped.

Might as well put on other shorter route instead first.

Ya I'm booked on SQ25 on AUG22. Nothing I show indicates new suites. Even when I book a new reservation, it shows the old config. I'd love to be wrong but nothing seems to point in that direction.

I'm pretty sure that the second A380 SIN SYD frequency will be the next one to get the new Suites.
