middle name

Hi, I recently made a booking with Singapore airlines using my first and last name only on my ticket. I forgot to include my middle name which is also included on my passport. Will that be an issue when I check-in at the airport?

No issue.

I travel with my son often and I’ve never put down his full name due to characters required. I only put down his first and surname and never have any problems on SQ.

I've never had issues with SQ with this, though I do intend to update my profile once my booked flights are concluded, just to be safe.

I can recall a travel agent making a booking that transposed the order of my first and last names. I checked with the airline (MH as I recall) and was assured that the names on the ticket had to correspond to "names" in the passport - order and completeness was not an issue. So it proved at check-in. Another point - if your passport includes hyphenated names eg. Mountbatten-Windsor, your booking drops the hyphen; that too has never been a problem at check-in

I have never used my middle name on tickets. I never use it in day to day life and nobody has ever said a thing about it.

In theory if traveling to/from the US there's a chance it could be an issue, though even then probably not (and even if so, I think it just means you get extra security screening). Elsewhere in the world I don't think it matters at all.
