SQ J or EVA Air J from JFK - SIN?

Looking for some insight on this specific comparison of J products. I've heard EVA Air has a very underrated J product and in some instances surpass SQ's J hard/soft product. Any input on this, specifically on the JFK-SIN route?

I just flew EVA last month and they are spectacular. I really enjoy trying other airlines and if you have flown SQ its time to try EVA you will enjoy it!

Both great products. BR has fantastic service, a more conventional J seat, Rimowa amenity kit (TPE departure only), and better champagne/wines. SQ has better food (IMO) and much better IFE. I think SKL wins over Infinity lounge as well.

Can't really go wrong either way.

Both very good. When are you flying?

If its next month you have the direct option from EWR on SQ.
I also like the A380 which SQ operates via Frankfurt and might choose that over EVA's 777 if price was similar.

I've not taken EVA on this route but all things being equal I'd take a single plane/direct flight with no excessive layovers and risk for misconnects.

If you haven't tried EVA, it worth a shot

I've tried EVA, just not on this sector. It's not worth deviating from SQ for such a long haul and I've got my routine down pat. And actually can't wait for the SIN-EWR non-stop so I can be done with JFK.

Both are great, but I do tend to sleep better on my BR flights.

Have done both. I like BR.

Having said that, I prefer SQ JFK-FRA-SIN:
- good departure time from NY (and arrive at SIN early in the morning vs. afternoon on BR)
- no need to reclear security at FRA (vs. TPE)
- AC lounge at FRA is more comfortable than the BR lounge(s) at TPE
- I also do find the food options on SQ better

Is that because EVA's bed is more comfortable? I have been finding SQ's J bed to be rather uncomfortable recently...

Thanks, this is very helpful - hits all the exact points I'm concerned about. Didn't realize I'd have to reclear security at TPE with BR. Looks like I'm sticking with SQ!

Actually I was responding to the OP, apologies for any confusion.

This normally takes 5 minutes max at TPE and there is even an express lane for J and *Gold. They don't even ask you to take laptops out.

While I love SQ's service, the beds are so hard that a good sleep is all but impossible.
