Expiry

Would any body know the life of Krisflyer points? Just about to transfer some from AMEX. Don't seem to be able to find this on their Website.

Just to quote off the Krisflyer site

Expiry of miles

Once you have earned KrisFlyer miles, they are valid for a period of three years. You will be notified in your Account Statements three months before they are due to expire. For a nominal fee, KrisFlyer members can extend these miles for another six months and Krislyer elite and PPS Club members can extend their miles for one year. KrisFlyer miles that have already expired cannot be extended.

Now for my question ... does this rule in practice mean that the points expire exactly three years to the day after the earning flight was taken? (which is my reading of this) or from the date of the statement or perhaps from the end of the year in which they were credited?

(If it helps all my miles were all earned on 29/03/2002 - I'm currently working on the basis that I had better burn them by 29/03/05 but would like to double check)

Many thanks in advance

If you log in to the SIA website with your membership number and pin, you can check exactly when your miles are expiring (under Members Area). I believe it's after three years, on the last day of the month earned.

Your miles expire at the end of the quarter after three years.

ie. If your miles were earned on 29/03/2002, they will expire on 31/03/2005.
If your miles had been earned on 01/04/2002, they would expire on 30/06/2005.

Quite true--thanks for clarifying that.
