Any info about the timeline of the introduction of lie-flat seats on those these routes ?

For a regular Y traveller out of Adelaide I hope the 787 will have as comfortable seats as the 330. Recently flew on the A350 and found the IFE great but the back of the seat was very uncomfortable.
Does anyone know if the 787 will go the 3-3-3 in Y?

People need to see through the marketing spin. Current 777 and 380 products across business and economy are better (apart from IFE screens) than the A350. The newly announced first class seems to be the only true 'up'grade. I haven't seen the 787 offering on SIA yet so can't comment on that.

The only true upgrade here will be for sectors currently on A330 services (2-2-2 business), as I assume the 787 will have 1-2-1 business class. For economy I found the A330/777/A380 marvellous. Lets hope the 787 won't be too much of a downgrade?

I assume your comment only refers to 777-300? I find the 777-200 very noisy. Not a bad seat but lie-flat is surely better. And some of the old 777-200s have unbelievably ancient IFE, not just bad screens but very limited range of options (at least in economy, I think in J they have a slightly better product).

I find both the 777-300 and 777-200 noisy. Best for less noise is A380, and with the A330 seems to be the 'smoothest' flyer (least turbulent flyer generally, dependant on weather obviously). I found the A350 between the 777 and 330 in terms of noise.

777-300 seems to rattle like an old Toyota Corolla . I guess the internal fittings and fixtures are showing their age.

Just thought, I would add to this. BNE has been switched to all A350 (or the last flight will be very soon) and so all have long haul flat beds. The 787-10 won't be getting these.

The 787s will have the new regional J which is staggered but still 1-2-1 lie-flat.

II agree completely having now flown 777-300er A380, A330 and the 350 the latter being quite uncomfortable whilst all others I have found quite good as far as Y goes anyway.

Not true... The 6pm flight is still a 777 and will be according to the schedule published through to the end of this year. I know cause I'm stuck on it Give me an A350 (better wifi, ife and seats in Y) over a 777 any day of the week.

It still has long haul flat beds so good for the J passengers.

Flying to Perth in October, hope the 787-10 is on that route by then.

Thanks for sharing these links; it was an interesting read. I wish SQ would provide a more definitive timeline for introducing consistency on hard products on its J class / Australian routes.
