Saver Available For Individual Segments Only?

Saver Available For Individual Segments Only?

I'm trying to book USM-HKG. The website displays saver J availability on both segments individually (USM-SIN, SIN-HKG), but shows "waitlist only" for the full itinerary USM-SIN-HKG. (Note this is not a routing problem, as the full itinerary is available on other dates.)

Is this a website error, or is there some limited subset of connecting award inventory? If I call, will I be able to book the full itinerary?

Could be a website error, but may be a desire to limit the amount of rewards easily available via SilkAir routes. Unfortunately call centre staff often have limited ability to assist in these circumstances. One time I was even told it wasn't possible to book a route that I could see offered on the website!

Thanks. USM-SIN just went on sale for 14K so I confirmed as two separate awards. Still a decent deal compared to paid options.

Now I'll be flying three 359s in a row . . . SQ SIN-HKG, CX HKG-TPE, CI TPE-SFO.
