Booking Air China redemption with SQ miles
 

Is there something going on with SQ seeing Air China availability? I checked on Expert Flyer, United.com, and AeroPlan and all show the Air China flights I want as available but having spoken to two SQ agents they say they don't see any availability. They have confirmed they are using the fare class codes that EF and United show as available but its zero'd out for them. Is this possible?

1. Not all airlines release the same quantity of inventory to each partner's FFP

2. On the Air Canada, UA and other forums, there are threads about how there is/was no Air China availability, or that it disappears for periods of time and comes back.

One of the issues AC and UA, for eg. were having were problems with cancelled tickets. Members would redeem for flights on Air China and then Air China would cancel the tickets, sometimes while people were already on their trips. I know that it's only relatively recently that Air China inventory re-appeared on Aeroplan.

Others here on the SQ forum would have better knowledge about SQ issues, but it's been a problem for quite some time.

Following up to this, I also ran into this. SQ didn't have the CA space I was looking for in 4 different scenarios. However UA and NH had them avail. to book on CA.

Have there been any **recent** reports about Air China cancelling award redemptions? The flights are a bit pricey and would love to burn the last of my Lifemiles. Plenty of economy award space but....
