New economy class vs premium economy?

Hi,

I am looking for opinions on the difference between SA New economy class vs premium economy (or is the old a380 econemy better)?

The flight is SQ 305 from LHR to SIN on a 777-300ER.

As the new economy upgrade is meant to have bigger/better seats and improved in flight entertainment. Therefore, is it really worth £1.5K (3x £500) for the upgrade?

Also it would mean I could spend more on hotels at the destination..

Not exactly working on a tight budget but every little helps!

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

IMO it isn't worth £1.5k to upgrade from economy to premium economy regardless of which version it is

You could fly business class on another airline for around the upgrade cost alone

I would saved money and pay for emergency seats in Y.
PEY is not worth the extra money at all.

Nah! not worth it.

I upgraded it and will not do it again unless it is Air NZ.

Not worth it. Unless you are offered to "bid" for an upgrade.
I experienced the Premier Economy Class from Netherlands to Singapore.
Bigger screen, chair more cushioning, quieter cabin space.

The arm rest cannot be moved up.. so I couldn't lay side way! haha.
In my experience, the freedom to lay across a row of empty economy class seats is priceless! :P
