when are they showing them? regardless of flights.

ausbt.com.au/singapore-airlines-new-airbus-a380-may-not-fly-until-early-2018

"the first aircraft from the next batch of A380s is due for delivery within the current financial year." This was clarified as being the Singaporean financial year, which spans from April 1 to March 31.

What are the chances they replace all the suites routes with these by Summer 2018? I have Suites confirmed for end of July 2018 flying SIN-FRA-JFK.

Would be a nice surprise to get the new product at that time.

very slim. Don't even think they started retrofitting their current A380s yet.

My theory is because SQ231 leaves SIN at 00:45 which is very late and most people may not have opportunity to full enjoy the new Suites. As a result, SQ222 will also stay as normal Suites.

At the moment I have SQ221, SQ231 and SQ232 all booked in Suite awards in January next year, fingers crossed.
Doesn't 221 (20:20 departure out of SIN) turnaround as 222 out of Sydney at 16:10? And 231 (the late departure you mentioned) turnaround as 232 at 12:15? If your logic is correct about SQ not placing the new plane on such a late departure out of Sydney, then I believe what we want is 221/222.

My SQ25 JFK-SIN in Feb 2018 is shown as :

FLIGHT SQ 25
Aircraft type: Not available
Flying time: Not available

First (O)

Could it be SQ cannot commit if they could fly A380 in Feb? Equipment downgrade possible?

I booked SQ285 for Feb 2018 too, and it says :

FLIGHT SQ 285
Aircraft type: Airbus Industrie A380-800
Flying time: 9hrs 55mins

First (O)

Why they don't put Suites class anymore?

Same thing happened to a Suites reservation I have for November. The seat map also became unavailable. After a day or two it went back showing the A380.

My theory is that weekends are when they load schedule updates and the website becomes glitchy during that process.

No. 221 turns to 232 and 231 turns to 222.

Fingers crossed! I'm also booked on SQ232 for a bit later.

Looking forward to a potential good news too.

What's the speculation on which routes the 5 new planes will handle?

It appears that SYD and LHR seem to be the first two planes? What about the remaining 3?

Any speculation if both SYD-SIN routes get the new planes or just 221/232?

I am convinced it will be SQ232. This route has noticeably worse awards availability than any other SIN-SYD route. Interestingly it can still be got at standard rates but saver is waitlist-only for absolutely every date and route I checked. (I don't have 150k miles available sadly...)
