Thinking of a a Star Alliance award .... LCA, Cyprus to SYD, Australia.

For SQ partner award purposes; Cyprus is classed as Middle East/North Africa.

Thus it is 72.5k one way in C (versus 95k if I departed somewhere in Europe.)

Now to get route, if I "built" an itinerary, say LCA-FCO-BKK-SYD. Would I be asked to pay the 95K mileage rate as I land in FCO? Thanks.

Well the best way to know is to call and ask, but from experience, as long as it's a transit in FCO (not stopover), and is not flagged out by the system as a significant detour, you are charged origin-destination mileage, so the lower rate.
