Why does SQ keep flying the old 773non ER to SYD?
Hi,
i Will fly SIN-SYD, and I was surprised that SQ uses a regional-configured 773 non ER to SYD.
My flight will be in December. Do you think that the equipment could change?
Thanks

No it is unlikely to change. The regional configured aircraft do the day flights from SIN, they are adequate for that purporse, so unlikely to change. The two overnight flights from SIN use long haul product. This contrasts to MEL, where one of the overnight flights from SIN is on regional product and all other Australian destinations only get regional product.

Why did you choose the 773 flight then?

I second this :P As I often fly direct Europe > Sydney. Unless you want to wait more than 12 hours to connect, the 773 is the only connecting flight available from most of the European destinations, unfortunately It's really annoying because with jetlag, I want to sleep on that second flight to SYD :P

When I've come from Europe, because of potential jetlag when I arrive in Australia I want to avoid sleeping on these day flights This is so I can go to bed after arriving and get a full nights sleep. [as aside, if travelling on day flight from SIN, I don't mind them making the cabin dark, but if coming from Europe, I'd much rather it be bathed in sunlight]. Although sometimes, irrespective of the seat (even in economy) it's difficult to fight the desire to sleep.

I prefer the Regional Biz over the Longhaul Biz on a dayflight. The seat is definetly more comfortable to sit and relax. If you want to sleep its a different thing.
