Incompetent check in agent at SIN, missing baggage
I had an unfortunate incident with SQ last week, when it took the check in agent a good 40 minutes to check in bags. There were 3 flights, on separate PNRs (all Star Alliance though), but for some reason she struggled with this. It is usually not a problem, but for some reason four people needed to get involved.
By the time they were done, it was 30 minutes to departure (they even found time to charge for a few kilos of excess baggage), and the bags did not make it onto the aircraft. Fast forward several days, and they located and delivered all but one of the bags to the final destination. I'd like some advice on how best this bag can be recovered. It's been 5 days now, the TK baggage services dept (since TK was the final carrier) is now in charge - but the hope of finding it gets slimmer each day. Any similar experiences with lost baggage, or ideas for what one could do? It was to be routed via KUL and IST, and they did find the other bags, so I'm not sure why one of them went missing. |
All enquiries should be directed to TK.
I do believe that the bags left SIN properly and are somewhere (most likely) in IST. To tag your bags, SQ must find the corresponding reservations to your connecting flights and to check that your tickets are all valid (through interline agreements) before they can tag your bags through properly. Once you can check that your bags are tagged accordingly, I see no reason why they can't be checked through. Though it could be at IST that the bags might be misplaced.. |
