This goes to show that SQ's Suites product is a "failure" if the airline is now resorting this product for Krisflyer redemption.
To be honest, SQ could use this valuable real estate space by installing either more Economy Class seats or introducing Premium Economy Class (which is the trend in longhaul travel).
Nope, SQ thinks they can pull in high premium traffic when it fell smack back on their face with a failure stamp all over it. When will SQ ever learn!
SQ should look at what the market is doing and respond to it accordingly. They are not the same as what they think they used to be. Time for some reality check.
They don't even listen to their most loyal customers. I have been telling them to provide Arrivals Lounge or at least access to their departure lounge since arrival and departure traffic mixes together at Changi. Nope, they don't want to bother. But they will do silly things like introducing Suites which is not what we are asking the airline to do.
As a frequent traveller on SQ and being their PPS Club Solitaire member, I am certainly seeing major decline in their service standards.

There were discussions that SQ will indeed put just First Class on their next A380 but in the interim they have to do something with their Suites. Most business flyers would try to upgrade, freeing up more tickets for SQ to sell in Business Class. That's a reasonable approach to deal with the situation as it is and I don't mind sitting in Suites every now and then...

Judging by the amount of nonsense you talk, it's hardly surprising SQ doesn't listen. If you think they're so terrible, why bother keeping the Solitaire status? It doesn't make sense. So much so that I smell a rat....

Given KF members option to redeem on suites I feel is actually listening to PPS members!

SQ is simply a way for me to get to work, no more, no less, but I happen to think they deliver a consistent, high level of service. The Suites pricing policy has gone according to plan, I'd say. Marketing 101.

+1 on this - as far as I can remember there was nothing else even close to Suites when the product was first released, but in the intervening years plenty of other airlines have played catch-up (to a greater or lesser extent depending upon the airline, of course).
