This is not unusual. You will need to book much earlier than now. SQ F saver is hard to come by especially on the 388. Even if you try booking 6 months out you might be a bit late.

Good luck!

Both times booking on SQF on the A380 were always within weeks and I've always seen availability.

It all depends on the route. Some are very easy (LHR-SIN comes to mind) and others are much harder, verging on the near impossible at certain times of year..ymmv

How hard is Suites redemption JFK-SIN-MLE? I looked for dec 2013 and oct 2014 and there is absolutely no availability. And it gives me business redemption which is all waitlist.
I wish 2 seats were easy to come by.

Just managed to use up all of my miles redeeming a total of 4x first/suite saver awards on A380 for a holiday next year with the wife.
SIN-LHR outbound and CDG-SIN on the way back.
Will be our first experience in suites/first class, so very excited

Congrats, that seems like a great way to put those miles into use. ^

Any experience booking JFK-FRA-SIN all the way through on A380 Suites(SQ25/26). It seems JFK-FRA is available, but FRA-SIN no availability. Is there a time period when they get opened up?

I booked the following:

SQ861 HKG-SIN Suites
SQ221 SIN-SYD Suites

The issue I have with the above itinerary is that I only have a 1 hour connection in SIN. I don't want to take SQ231 since the service will be somewhat abbreviated with the 00:45 departure.

I actually want to have a long layover, and would like to take SQ865 the day before (there is confirmed Suites availability,) which arrives into SIN at 22:40. Leaving on SQ221 the next day at 20:15 would put the connection at just about 22 hours. Only thing is the site doesn't give me this as an option for HKG-SYD.

Would I have luck getting them to change just the HKG-SIN segment over to 865? I've heard they're somewhat fickle with these routings that don't show up online for a city pair.

A friend and I were able to snag JFK-FRA-SIN-ICN all in Suites/F (for the final leg) on consecutive days in April. There was span of 6 days with saver availability in the third week of the month. We booked in early December.

Can only ask!

Also, try searching the award itinerary using the mobile app - it often shows different connection options to the desktop site.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about suites (or the lack of which) for the HKG-SIN leg. It's only 3 hours, and personally, I would be ok to give this up if it means I can get the full F treatment in SIN - dedicated check-in lounge, and the wonderful TPR. It comes with the full F experience, which you certainly won't be able to take advantage of with a 1 hour transit.

I guess I could take SQ 1, which comes up as a pairing with SQ 221.

Am I right in thinking that SQ 231, with a 00:45 departure would be a "lesser" experience in Suites? The supper service without satay/caviar/salad/dessert would be a little disappointing - but could that be made up with dining in the TPR? (Which I enjoyed this past Christmas.)
