I'm on a 4-cabin 77W, so I'll assume it's lie-flat new J seat. Hope the equipment doesn't change, looking forward to the flight!

4 cabin as in 4 class ? Usually SQ won’t change the equipment unless really no choice.

777-300 - Angled
777-200ER - Lie Flat

I'm traveling LAX-NRT on SQ11 and back on SQ12 in October in Y. When making a seat selection and it appears that rows 47-48 and 59-62 are all blocked off. Since only two of us are travelling I'd love to snag a couple of the two seats together. Do these usually open up later? Here's the current seatmap:

can you ticket an advantage award while waitlisting saver on the same flight?

Yes, why not, but doing that might also hurt your chances of saver waitlist clearing, since it becomes 1 less seat on that flight. Also, if your saver flight does clear, you would have to totally cancel the advantage booking to get back the miles (plus cancellation fee), so be sure to have sufficient miles for both booking (if the refund of miles is slow), if you are considering this option. I'm also considering to get an advantage award flight, but still holding out to see if the saver will clear, especially when my search turns out at least 6 advantage available.

Check Expert Flyer if the seats are blocked? Seats not taken (except preferred and usually bassinet) usually open up t-96 hours so set an alarm clock and then check online as soon as it’s ready.

If you have status, you can always call and try ask if SQ will release the seats for you.

I checked Expert Flyer and the seats are blocked. I'll reserve some seats and keep checking, especially at the 96 hour mark. Unfortunately, I have no status within Star Alliance. Thanks for the advice!

i mean have the advantage leg confirmed (but on hold so miles are not deducted) and saver waitlisted so that if it clears then I can ticket at the lower price, but i don't risk advantage space disappearing. ideally, i'd like to do this all online but i don't think i can.

I've never done that before, but even so, a confirmed but un-ticketed leg would most definitely take up space in the inventory, thus should also hurt your chances of clearing the saver waitlist.

Sq will release any remaining seats for selection at T-96 hours. Set your alarm!

If I make any changes such as dropping one segment on my KF award ticket (which was ticketed before Jan 24 devaluation), will I have to fork out additional points or it'll stay same?

My guts tell me that ticket will be reissued if i want to drop first segment, and likely to require to pay additional 7k points (J ticket SE Asia-EWR).

Anyone know what’s going on with award availability?
There’s nothing available from 30 Mar 2020 onwards.
Usually they release 355 days in advance but it’s been like a week now with no more seats released.

In late 2017 I had to change a KUL-SIN-MEL to SIN-MEL, and was charged usd 25 route change fee.
The booking reference / PNR remained the same, but SQ sent me new PDFs with different ETR's.
