Need to know your route first. To see what are the chance of the flight being cancelled.
It does seem like from USA to SIn? SQ25?

SQ37 is flying daily. So it won’t be cancelled.

SQ12 is currently flying 3 days per week (day 1/3/5) till end Oct. Not sure whether they will still fly in more days in dec or Jan.

so if they cancelled the flights your expired miles should be deposited n extended. But if you choose to cancel, I can’t say whether it is possible to deposit n extend.

So one thing you can do is change the booking date further to next year or maybe change the destination (maybe to Male or Phuket instead of Singapore which you can enter).

There is this request form which you can ask as well.
https://www.singaporeair.com/request.form

I saw it say that if you are affected by border closure (it might be too early now to say you are affected by border closure), you can request SQ to refund
but then it is not clear about those expired miles that have been used though if u choose to cancel. So maybe you can use this form explain your situation. N ask about the expired miles.

Their Kris Flyer email team just got back to me and said they'll extend my expired points to Dec 2021. Perfect I can rebook for Winter 2022.

so you are going cancel now? N have to pay for the cancellation fee ? Might as well make use of the free rebooking to rebook to winter 2022 (although have to wait till 355 days before the flight date)

there is example given in below link
https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/s...ary-rebooking/

Interesting. What's the best way to go at this one? Near, September 2021 rebook flights to a year out, Sept 2022, just in case. Around December 2021, rebook flights with availability in December 2022? No change fee but subject to KrisFlyer redemption availability?

yes. Based on their example with unlimited changes before 30/9/21 n one additional change after 30/9/21.

They might extend the unlimited changes period though.

I'm trying to book a SQ award from LAX -> FRA/MUC -> FLR.

The first leg has points availability for business class via Lufthansa, but the 2nd leg only has Air Dolomoti. There are no points redemptions available for the second leg, so I would just pay cash.

Could I have these tickets combined to one award, so that we could use the Lufthansa lounge on layover, and have the luggage moved directly to the 2nd leg plane?

it certainly can't be one award because there are 2 different tickets.

Whether you can check through your luggage is question to Lufthansa, not Krisflyer. As well as the lounge question.

Do you, or anyone here know why Air Dolomoti does not show up in SQ award search, despite being star alliance member?

I had originally booked a EWR-SIN-KUL roundtrip for Nov 2020. Obviously those flights were cancelled. I was given flight credit which is expiring Dec 31 2021. SQ is still showing that flight on their schedule, but the possibility of non-quarantine travel by then seems incredibly slim.

I don't want to rebook cause it seems like SQ will continue running those flights, making it my loss if I can't actually travel. I've done quite a bit of reading on their website, but can't seem to find anything definitive. Is there a possibility of them extending the flight credit? These flights were booked way back in Apr 2020 using cash. Is it still possible to get a refund? Or are there other possibilities that I should be thinking about?

yiu did not request for refund previously?
You did not rebook after the earlier flight were cancelled right?

So you was given some flight credit which need to be use up by end dec?

The best way is to rebook a certain flight in NOV that bound to be cancelled. Right now SQ have scheduled up to end October.
Anything in NOV are place holder.

So that you can request for refunds. But need to do some homework n pray that one of these new flight are cancelled.

some destination which should be cancelled will be India cities. EWR flight to Sin should be cancel as well as SQ is flying non stop from JFK. Also for certain destination with multiple flights such as Bali, SQ will bound to cancel some of the flights, keeping 1 or 2. So need to do some guess work

however there is a risk of the flight not cancelling and u might have to rebook again.

Else, you will just to hope that SQ will extend the flight credit due date
