BTC menu recommendations

Anyone tried the 'Slipper Lobster' or 'Indian Lamb Shank' on the BTC C-menu ex-SIN recently?

I've seen some complaints about the slipper lobster, but nothing at all about the Indian lamb.

With the new and extended menu, surely you have more choices to choose from?

And the 'slipper lobster' is apparently a full lobster now...

Lobster Thermidor
Lobster tail sautéed in butter, flambéed in brandy, sprinkled with cheese, and served with creamy mushroom sauce, garlic and spicy mustard, and buttered asparagus
I'd take the lamb though.

There are indeed many choices, but I've narrowed mine down to two.

The BTC menu on the web page say's lobster, but when I go into my rez to actually book the meal, only the dreaded :) Slipper lobster shows up.

Others on FT have reported that Slipper lobster is for C and Lobster is for F (which doesn't exist on SIN-TPE flights).

So has anyone tried he Indian Lamb dish?

Really, it depends on your palate... And mine! I personally don't like Indian styled foods. So I'd go for the lamb chops instead.

The seabass is also quite good, and the perennial favourite Singapore Chicken Rice which is what I'm ordering this weekend for my flight to MNL!

Order what you want, and if it isn't to your liking you can always have what's on the menu on our flight.

Guy B., you are so right about one's palate. I do enjoy a good curry. Plus I believe that stews and braised dishes actually improve with reheating and recooking, whereas a grilled meat (steak or lamb) is never as good as when it comes off the broiler the first time.

I'm allergic to poultry products, so chicken rice is off my diet, alas.

I's still hoping that someone out in FT space who likes Indian dishes can offer a firsthand assessment on the lamb.

I agree with your comment about the stews and braised being better.
Laksa was the best choice I had on BTC so far and 8-oz steak the worst.

Can't help you with the curry vs lobster though. I tried the slipper lobster in C many years back but have not tried it again recently. It was decent - better than the 8-oz steak.
