First Class SIN-HKG..?

Hi All,

Wife & I are from Hong Kong, had been working in Singapore for last 5 years. While I love the country, but there is chance that we will go back to Hong Kong Dec this year / early Jan'12 for good.

Currently we have about 40,000 miles left in each of our Krisflyer account, meaning that there is just enough for a One-way First Class Saver ticket to HKG.

However, after some searching, it seems that there is only B773ER with First Class, and of course, they don't allow First Saver Award...

Any advise that I can get a pair of First ticket back home? SQ or other *A are both ok.

Service level or meal option is not my priority really... The priority is to maximize check-in bag allowance (since we have many bags to bring home), and burn all the remaining miles (since we foresee that we can no longer use these points)

Thank you very much!

Up until the end of this month you could try redeeming on UA in F but they're switching the 744 for a lousy 737 afterwards.

If you don't mind the connection, you could try redeeming on TG SIN-BKK-HKG in J and F respectively. As a bonus you get to use the fantastic Spa lounge at BKK.

Is a short SIN-HKG flight really worth flying in F or burning 40k miles?

If they're gonna orphan the account, then why not? Might as well maximize the usage.

The points with Krisflyer will expire in a few years anyway, unless they want to take another trip in Asia somewhere. . .

Well, living in HKG SQ is a decent *A programme to have if they intend to fly internationally at all. (although UA is probably better)
