Any truth to priority on KF Elite Gold?
 

HI guys, I was told that KF Elite Gold, PPS get some priority in terms of seat availability in the redemption as well as seat selection online. Although I doubt this is the case, maybe the forummers can help shed some light on this?

The reason is that I am considering whether to continue with SQ for mileage as I can switch to Cathay, United or Thai. As I will have substantial points on my credit cards, I will still be able to redeem flights from SIN if I want to, since a normal KF enjoys the same redemption rate as Elites (thus the point in the para above). I do note I will lose mileage bonuses of 25% but it seems thats not alot given I only make 70k EQM per year (so that equals only 15k bonus miles, not enough for any real trip).

Any thoughts?

Just in case others wanted to post, I do know that KF Elites get priority on waitlisting for flights, which is a tangible benefit I do enjoy regularly. Almost 100% of my EQM are on SQ.

Yes for better seat availability since they priorities higher tier members for waitlist.

No for better seat selection online. Top tier member is same as normal no status customer.

If you have choice to fly CX or SQ, then go for CX! I had CX Gold (before) and SQ Gold (now), I miss my CX Gold so so so much! Conclusion of my experience:

CX Gold => Mr CX100Silver, welcome back! Thank you for your loyalty. You are a value customer that we do appreciate your business. We will try our best to satisfy you, ground or sky!

SQ Gold => What!?? Who are you? And, Don't you dare coming to SilverKris Lounge If you're not flying J with us!

While I can't give much insight to the CX Gold experience, the SQ Gold version is pretty much spot on.

I've been a SQ Gold and the only time I was allowed into the Silverkris lounge was when I was flying LH J. They were nice about it though. :p

All *A business class passengers are allowed to enter Silverkris lounge, regardless whether they are *A gold members.
