Interlining baggage on different PNR and allowance

I read some older threads but couldn't find an answer for my particular case.

I will be flying PVG - SIN on SQ C. and then 6 hours later, SIN - ORD on UA C. I am *G (UA 1K). There are two different PNR's involved.

Will the piece luggage concept apply when I check in PVG since I'm actually just transiting in SIN to North America (albeit with UA)?

Or will SQ apply the weight concept when I check in PVG? This will greatly affect what I'm planning to pack. (2 pieces 30kg total vs. 3 pieces 23 kg each)

I tried emailing the SQ office in Shanghai, but so far have not received an answer.

I would expect the weight concept to apply. But since you're *G, under the weight concept you will be able to take 30kg (standard SQ J) plus an additional 20kg in as many pieces as you like. So, a 19kg difference to the piece concept.

Weight concept on PVG-SIN apply as that particular itinerary / ticket does not have a US/Canada segment on it.

Bags may be checked through to final destination though if you show the UA ticket at check in at PVG though.
