So this means you SG FTers can earn points on tax payments again?

We have just finished forum-wide last minute scramble and subsequent mourning over in the CX forum for losing our last points for tax strategy http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...nd-30-nov.html . Thought the banks here were aligning with Singapore, but you guys reinstated...

Actually the feature is still there for 2 ANZ Travel Visa Signature and a HSBC Card. I use the ANZ Travel Card to pay for my tax payments but you have to pay an admin charge (%) on top of it (which isn't much since I don't earn much in the first place).

The earning rate for ANZ has dropped as well for tax payment.. From 1.4/$ to 0.5/$

Thanks vsepr, will try it out next year.

I believe it was from 1/$ to 0.5/$. But still better than nothing. ;)

I am not that sure that when OTP is in place, it is necessarily an online transaction...

Where did you see that these bill payments earn points? Couldn't find any info on the link you provided.

I tried 1 $5 transaction each at AXS e-station with Citi Rewards Card and DBS Woman's Card. Will inform you if there are points credited after posting.

Okay, so it's not confirmed. Do post your findings later on.

Very interesting. I'm still paying last years tax on a giro - wonder if I can cancel that and immediately clear the balance through AXS?
I don't want to antagonise IRAS for a few airmiles though...

laurent_rio Dec 6, 2015 10:58 pm

currently i pay my prudential insurance using credit card deduction every month with DBS altitude (get 1.2 miles/$); so by paying via AXS using DBS WWMC , can get 4 miles/$ ?

But i see the T&C on DBS WWMC

"DBS Points shall not be awarded for AXS and SAM online/iBanking bill payment transactions"

http://www.dbs.com.sg/iwov-resources...s_card_tnc.pdf

so i guess no DBS Point awarded for using AXS Bill payment, maybe need to be clarified again

That's what I thought as well, so never tried it out. Although I guess the possibility of paying via a "middle man/card" might be worth pursuing.

Well I'm satisfied that my Prudential insurance is paid via my Citibank PremierMiles Visa via GIRO. Only earns a measly 1.2 miles per $ but it's hassle free. :)

vsepr Dec 7, 2015 5:13 am

Today I paid $10 using UOB PRVI Miles World MasterCard and $5 with UOB Preferred Platinum MasterCard at http://www.axs.com.sg/axsEstation.php

Will keep you informed if UNI$ are awarded for these 2 transactions.

$10 for PRVI Miles MC because will award UNI$7 instead of UNI$3 due to UNI$0.5 rounding off for $5 transaction if UNI$ are awarded.
