With all of UOB's online exceptions and Paywave retailers awarding SMART$ I'm no where near spending that much on it. Might even dump it at renewal.

- Groceries is NTUC and Redmart - Food: Sandwich Shop, Nam Nam, Subway That's it on my end. Can use for Amazon and did use at Microsoft online store, but those are exceptions and not day by day. Still not bad though the restrictions and exceptions can be a headache and we all know points tally is hard to verify. |

Is there any shortcut to tracking UOB points if transaction volume is impossible to track one by one.
Or any shortcut to tracking DBS points because the points = lumped together as a result of having both Womens card and Altitude? I guess no shortcut but just trying my luck asking if any fellow FT'ers there have any tricks to estimate. :) |

Havent been in this thread in a while. Just updating that the Imagine Card now sells at $20 with $4 value (hence $16) at the transitlink offices. Looks like they have restocked the cards now.
So it's slightly cheaper to purchase it online. I guess on the upside you do get cards with later expiration dates - 2018 |
Welcome back Ised.

There's no shortcut I'm afraid, you gotta power up that spreadsheet and churn the numbers.
On a separate note, I have applied for 3 cards this week: UOB PRVI World Mastercard & Visa card - just to get the 30,000 bonus miles (of course I need to pay the annual fee of S$256.80 for each card & the miles will only be credited sometime in October 2015). DBS Altitude AE card - to get the 2k bonus miles for applying online as well as the extra miles rewarded for the first 6 months of usage. This will be the primary card I use for the next 6 months - 4.5 miles (per S$1) for online flight & hotel transactions; 3 miles (per S$1) for overseas transactions and 1.8 miles (per S$1) for local transactions. |

Yup, that's what I do every 2-3 days to make sure my UOB and DBS Points are consistent with the online version.

Hey you guys all applying for those cards makes me consider it too.
Haha, I already need an extra wallet to stash away the cards I don't use daily. Well Maybank Horizon Platinum will get the boot this weekend as all my redeemed points landed in my KF account in the form of miles. So there is space for a new one :) |

Not much has been discussed here about this card, so I thought I'd share this in case it's useful for anyone.
I signed up for ANZ Priority Banking recently (requires S$150,000 deposit or investment) and got the Visa Infinite card. The standard miles earning feature is quite bleh: - every S$1 earns 0.4 rewards points (= 0.8 miles) on all spends, local or foreign currency. - if you spend S$50,000 per year there is a bonus of 10,000 reward points (= 20,000 miles) so this works out to 1.2 miles per S$1 if you hit it. BUT what I found interesting is this: - in any calendar month, the LARGEST foreign currency spend earns 1.6 reward points (= 3.2 miles) per S$1! - total reward points in any month is capped at 20,000 reward points (= 40,000 miles). This means, using the card to spend on any ONE foreign currency transaction in a month will earn 3.2 miles per S$1 for that transaction - which is the highest miles earning rate for any general foreign currency spending in Singapore (ignoring the usual 4 miles per S$1 for specialist spending categories, eg. UOB PPAmex for dining, Citi Rewards for shopping, DBS Womans for online, UOB PPVisa for online and paywave, etc. mentioned in the wiki). Make sure you cap your foreign currency spending to: - just ONE transaction for every month (because ANZ only awards 3.2 miles to the LARGEST foreign currency transaction in that month; any other foreign currency transactions in the same month only earn the measly standard rate). - maximum spend of that transaction should not be more than S$12,500 because anything above won't earn any more reward points due to the monthly cap (but shouldn't think this will be a problem for most). - NOTE the 0.4 miles per S$1 will be received immediately, the remainder 2.8 miles per S$1 will be received in the following month's statement. I'm thinking this will come in useful to buy big ticket items (eg. flights) in foreign currency which typically aren't granted 4 miles per S$1, or if spending limits are already reached for the respective specialist cards. This card is only available through ANZ Signature Priority Banking... if you need a referral (where you and I get S$150 sign up bonus!) do PM me. The 3.2 miles per S$1 applies to the largest spend for any one foreign currency TYPE in a calendar month, it does not mean that you have to restrict to just making one TRANSACTION in foreign currency for that month. Example: In this month you spend total S$1,000 in GBP (in multiple transactions) and total S$500 in MYR (also in multiple transactions). You receive 3.2 miles per S$1 for ALL your transactions in GBP (not only the largest single GBP charge) because your highest total foreign currency spending for that month is GBP, and 0.8 miles per S$1 for all your MYR transactions. Thus, this works out particularly lucrative if you only use the card for all spendings in any ONE chosen foreign currency per month. |
