You have to call and ask the customer service to dictate to you over the phone one by one. That's a constant pain expressed in this forum with regards to UOB.

Normally I do the reconciliation as an "accounting movement": Opening balance: + 1X spends / 250 + 6X spends / 250 x 6 + promo RewardCash received - redemptions made = Ending balance Is UOB wrong so much of the time that this becomes impossible to do? |

Generally speaking, the bigger and more established the bank is, the older its IT system.
However for UOB case, it's both complexity and grandfather IT systems. |

Just that UOB is bigger pain than the others because they pride themselves in issuing speciality cards - some to incentivize dining, online, paywave spends etc. |

Have used it and love it. 4 miles per $ for ALL online, PayWave and dining spend. Only catch is that this earn rate is classified a promotion and it's supposed to end next month. Fingers crossed that it gets extended.

Well great, of course the agent doesn't know what is going on and babbles about that T&Cs may have changed and so forth. Honestly I don't know where they find those guys. Doesn't even know the difference btw. WMC (5 points) and WWMC (10 points). Oh well, at least escalation to credit card department done. I saved all the T&Cs and screenshot the website. No idea how you can code the card bonus wrongly, but apparently they managed. Awaiting call back for resolution during the week. |
The 'Best credit cards for KF miles accrual' master thread
In the end, banks here are specialists in over complicating their coditions. UOB is such an example where there are some many execrations to the rule. I argued with them on a charge which didn't get the 10x points on the basis that the seller was not a book shop but listed as a research company selling books. Escalation did nothing. 4 miles on pay wave is still great but their advertising on online transactions cause wrong expectations from clients.

Unfortunately banks are in full control so we just have to play by their game. Do refer to the spreadsheet in my signature for the crowd sourced data.
Just had subway for lunch so just earned 20 miles from the $5 combo meal. ;) |
