Just checking if anyone has been tracking their UNI$ earned on UOB cards lately? I just discovered that for transactions posted around 20 March 2014 onwards, it is back to the "Round down to the nearest S$5" for purpose of awarding UNI$. As such, any transactions below S$5 do not earn any UNI$. Anyone has such experience? Thanks.

It seems that the rounding has indeed changed in the last week or two. I've had to round my transactions since March 18, 2014 DOWN to the nearest $5 to get the UNI$ balance to tally with the website.

The post on HWZ links to the UOB website which shows the (updated?) T&Cs:

You earn UNI$1 for every S$5 retail purchase charged to your UOB Credit Card. UNI$ is calculated based on the value of card transactions effected daily and rounded down to the nearest UNI$. Refunded retail purchases, cash advances, interest charges, balance transfers, late payment charges, finance charges, annual fees and other miscellaneous charges will not be credited with UNI$.

via UOB website @ https://uniservices.uobgroup.com/NAS.../mainFaq.jsp#1
So it seems that they tally up your total miles-earning transactions per day and then round down from there. Still slightly better than rounding each transaction down, but definitely much worse than rounding them all to the nearest $5.

Do you have a link to this promotion? I can only find this one - http://www.citibank.com.sg/global_do...t13/TNC_s5.pdf

However it has ended in January 2014.

There is a new one http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/84118151-post7.html

Oh, thats annoying, neither did I...

So... ANZ card for local spend at 1.4miles/$ and back to the DBS Altitude at 2.0miles/$ for overseas means I am no worse off and when my spending falls off a cliff and registers zero for a few months maybe they will realise the folly of their marketing tactics..

I sent SMS to register, received auto reply. Then I call CSO to check and CSO says if I receive a response, it means I qualify.. Not sure if the CSO is correct though

The sales just said I can register this via SMS, never said anything about eligibility.

What were the past experience of these targeted promos?

For this 5% rebate, even if the transactions made are being refunded or void, they will still be given the 5% rebate.

I made a charge of S$197.76 at GIANT on 21 Jan 14 and refunded the items. The refund was charged to my ANZ Travel Card. The 8% rebate (CNY promotion) was credited on 28 March 2014 and included this refunded charge, hence got an extra S$15.82 cash rebate!!

I read through the thread your posted. This post will answer your question... http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/84182312-post12.html

If based on previous promotions, the min spending varies, can be $500, $1000, $2000. So if you were "not targetted", then how do they determine what is your min spending?

YMMV, I guess. You can try and let us know if it works.

From previous discussions here and in HWZ, UOB started to scrutinize on all online transactions since last year to determine if they are eligible for 10x UNI$.

No issue with DBS Woman's cause any online transaction is 10x eligible. FYI, I charge all my online spending to DBS Woman's.

You have no issue with DBS requiring to transfer to KrisFlyer & Asia Miles in blocks of 10,000 DBS points to 20,000 miles? (Spent in at least S$5,000 with DBS Woman's World MasterCard). The bonus 9x need to wait the 16th of the following month.

https://rewards.dbs.com/Home.aspx

Their rewards catalogue gets updated every 01 July. Not sure if they are going to increase the blocks again.

Yeah I'm aware of the 10k DBS points block transfer and when the bonus points come in. I just transferred recently as well cause some of my points were expiring end of the month. The transfer to my KrisFlyer account just took 1 working day, very fast.

All my online spending is charged to this card so I have no issue hitting the 10k block. But you're right, who knows when they'll increase again.
