Are LH business seats on the A340 lie-flat?

Hello all,

I usually fly BA and love the lie-flat seats in business. I've an upcoming trip to ATL and can go via LGW or FRA with the LH routing giving me better timings.

I'd be ready to give LH a try again but am reluctant to do so unless their business seat is a true (i.e. not 175 degree or something like that) lie-flat bed. Can anyone update me on their seats - the site claims it becomes a bed but is a bit scarce on detail...

Best,

Dave M

Go for BA. LH has no real lie-flat seat. Pictures of the seat can be found on the LH website and the M&M guide which is a sticky in this forum.

Cheers

lie-flat but not flat-bed. So not what you are looking for.

I think it is pretty clear. He is looking for something similar to BA. While the LH C seat is not that bad, the BA seat is a real flat bed. And I wouldn't call the LH seat a real lie-flat seat even though LH Marketing does.

yep,
its a flat angled "slide down and fight gravity" monstrum.
You will curse Mr. Newton several times on a long haul.

I really like the BA seat in J ! Go for BA if the price is competitive.

I refer to such seats as "wedgie lie-flat" seats.

I have attempted to slide down the LH C seat, both in the air and on the ground. I have never had any luck! I found it to be comfortable. Granted I work for them, but I am fine flying LH C. But as I have been taught, and as I believe, to each his own! If you are seeking a true flat-bed, then LH would not be your best bet. Have a good flight!

Thanks everyone. I don't post often here, but this forum is extremely helpful whenever I have done.

Safe travels to all,

Agreed! But this is not the standard procedure.

I am fine flying LH C as well and won't complain about the seat in general. But compared to other airlines there are definitely better C products out there and BA is one of the airlines with a very good C product IMHO.

Actually it is:

Meriam-Webster says:

3: having a relatively smooth or even surface

Only definitions 1 and 2 imply that the flat surface also has to be horizontal...

HTB.
