In this months Lufthansa Mag the letter from CEO talks about new service to PNQ (pune india). I was wondering if anyone has seen a schedule posted.

Thank you

Saw that too... I suppose they mixed up the new MUC-BOM flight with the future FRA-PNQ they proposed at the negotiations to get the additional BOM flight.

LH starting all C flight to PNQ (Pune, India)

I guess this is going to be one of those privatair 737 birds they use on DUS-EWR for example?

Lufthansa to start ‘all business class’ flight to Pune

Ashwini Phadnis

New Delhi, April 16

German airline Lufthansa could soon be operating an all-business class flight directly to Pune from Germany.

The Indian Government has allowed Lufthansa to fly six-times-a-week to Pune using an aircraft that can seat a maximum of 60 passengers on every flight.

[...]

The start of the Pune service is likely to prove a boon to several Germany companies such as Daimler Chrysler that have their facilities in and around the city.

Strange that they are not mentioning this in public in a big way...

Lufthansa fliegt vom 1.

There is one. Last flight out of FRA to ORD is LH 432 which leaves at 17:15 hrs and arrives into O'Hare at 19:30 hrs. It is operated by a 2-class A-340-600.

Not that they would care. The article cited upthread seems like its targeted at german companies like Diamler etc that are based in PNQ, and so the timings are mostly geared to O&D traffic - saves them the 3 hour drive up to BOM.

For at least some BOM residents, PNQ airport might actually be easier to fly out of than driving to BOM.

I will save 3hours in the car from Pune to BOM and the 1 hour buffer time for traffic jams, where i usually sit in the Hyatt.
Also during rainy season the ride to Mumbai is not tooooooooo safe.

It might releave also the businesclass availabilty for the FRA-BOM flight which is pretty often sold out.

Arriving at 10.50 in FRA i perceive as late. With the BOM-FRA i arrive at 7.50 and can be in the first meeting at 10 if needed.

Regards from pune

Michael
