Vote for your favorite images in the 3rd FlyerTalk Trip Reports Photo Contest!

So far we have, by my count, 52 eligible and most excellent images! The talent (and breadth of travel) shown here yet again is nothing short of amazing!

This is the official voting thread. The voting period will run for one week and end on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 6:00pm Pacific Daylight time.

In order to make viewing the images and your selection process easier, I have gathered them into a single gallery here:

http://www.pbase.com/birdstrike/flyertalk_contest_3

Clicking on a thumbnail will bring up the full-sized version of the image. Selecting slideshow will show medium-resolution versions of the images in, well, a slideshow.

You may vote for three images. Any Registered FlyerTalker may vote.

At the bottom of each image is a unique filename: 001.jpg through 052.jpg. The three digit identifier is what you will use to cast your votes.

Each voter should add a post to this voting thread. with three ID numbers from the gallery identifying the three images you are selecting as your favorites.

Voters are asked to choose between the submitted images based on the entry's aptness to the theme of the contest, visual appeal, artistry, and composition.

Please do add your thoughts to your post. Why were the photos you selected your favorites? What caught your eye? Questions to the photographers are welcome!

At the end of the one week voting period, the voting thread will be closed and I will tally the votes and announce the winners.

The first prize for this contest is being sponsored by bdjohns1. The winner will receive their choice of two of the three volumes in the "Photographing the Southwest" series. These books are a great way to both learn the techniques of taking great photographs in the American Southwest, as well as a guidebook to finding photogenic locations that you might otherwise miss.

Volume 1 - Utah - Amazon link
Volume 2 - Arizona - Amazon link
Volume 3 - Colorado/New Mexico - Amazon link

Thank you, bdjohns! That is an amazing first prize!

Second prize will be five FT luggage tags sponsored by birdstrike. Third prizes will be three FT luggage tags also from birdstrike.

In the event of a tie, the poster who first reached the winning number of votes (as judged by the FT post timestamp) will be declared the winner. Multiple prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the sponsor.

And then, if a good time was had by all, we can start again with a new theme which shall be announced shortly.

Cheers,

birdstrike
