More widebodies on MIA-LAX/SFO

Those who fly Miami-California will be happy to know AA is adding widebody options this winter. While the previous winter schedule planned only one widebody on AA's ten daily Miami-California flights, there will now be four, including the return of 763 service to MIA-SFO.

As of 15 December 2006, Miami-Los Angeles will be operated seven times daily. There will be widebody departures from Miami at 820am (AA 383; 772 with 3-class service), 1115am (AA 2213; 763) and 605pm (AA 828; 763). From LAX at 910am (AA 280; 763), 1250pm (AA 1520; 772), and 145pm (AA 252).

From SFO, the morning departure from Miami/afternoon to Miami will once again be a 763 starting 15Nov06.

AA is 'upgrading' a lot of its routes.

I was told (did not check schedule and dates) that all (most) ex-ORD to West Coast (major) cities (LAX, SFO and SEA?) were going to larger aricraft this fall winter. While 'larger' means no MD80s ... it means more 757s than previously.

Thanks for info. I frequently do MIA/SFO. However website reflects change not taking place until Dec. 1 on MIA/SFO rather than Nov. 15. Glad to have widebody back.

Looking at the seatmap for the 772 LAX-MIA it appears to be a coffin configured 772 is that correct?

I feel a South Beach run coming...

FYI - the Super Bowl is in Miami Feb 4 this year - so the flights in late Jan through Feb 5 will probably be very popular - book early.

HMMM. Note to self. Book a trip OUT of town that week to avoid the mindless masses that will come here to trash the place...!

Thanks for the heads-up! SFO-MIA goes to a 763 until 09APR, then it's back to the #%*&@ uncomfortable seats of the 757. Opens up a new connection route for South America flights for those of us who blacklist AA's aging interior 757s for anything over a few hours.

I'm also glad to see a second 763 on the SFO to DFW route starting early September. ^

Great news...no longer do we have to tolerate the intolerable 757s.

Thanks for the news! I am thrilled to see these wide bodies in action across the continent. Living in LA is great, since AA flies wide bodies to JFK, with three classes of service. Adding MIA to the mix is just one more reason to fly AA.
