Back in January, the catering on CDG-BOG was the following:

Lunch:
Fennel & carrot salad,
Curried chicken.

Choice of main course:
Sauté of beef with oregano sauce,( ^ )
grilled vegetables & polenta
or
Salmon with sorrel sauce
and tri-color pasta.

Camenbert
Chocolate chip muffin ( )
Praline mousse

Dinner:
Bulgarian style salad, tomato & mozarella brochette.
Pesto pasta salad, pastrami.
Pavé frais.
Apple crumble.

Actually quite good, but I think it really looks like what I received on a previous flight 6 months ago .

I will try my best and post my last AF menu, which was from CDG-LAX or CDG-SFO...

Choice of Hors D`oeuvre

Duck Foie Gras Terrine, Fruit Chutney

Marinated Red Mullet and Tomato Tart ( one AF advantage vs. KLM, you still can choose from two appetizers, KLM only offers one for at least 4-5 years now )

Choice of Main Courses

Pan-Seared Lamb Noisette, Simmered Carrots and Herbed Artichoke Bottoms

Sauteed Shrimp with Lemon Balm Cream Sauce, Basmati Rice and Eggplanr Ratatouille

Breast of Duckling with Port WIne Sauce ( Plat du jour )

Our special Selection of Cheese

Camembert, Cabecou, Fourme D`ambert ( extra cheese course makes AF full meals 4 course meals, many competitors do only offer 3 courses )

Dessert

Pear Tartlet, Dark Choco Dessert, Sherbet served with Cookies, Choice of Fresh Fruit ( Dessert Tray looks nice )

I would not call it disappointing, the cheese course lackes some quality ( or my expectations were too high ) but otherwise it was at least on par with KLM or LH, if not better after flying LH LAX-FRA last week in C...

Flew SQ Raffles two weeks ago and all the abovementioned do not even come close, the presentation already sets SQ apart and the meals are simply in another league, but SQ is a Top 3 carrier and AF by all accounts a very solid airline, which has cut a lot and has no ambition to play in the real upscale league.

Well, could you all add the winelist, at least for the long-haul flights in the premium cabins ?

CDG-LAX in Espace Première late February (thanks to an upgrade):
Lunch:

Appetizer : Shrimp with white radish and horseradish, foie gras and breast of duck with figs, beef galette with marscapone and chives

Hors d'Oeuvres:
Duck fois gras terrine with peppercorns and tomato with cucumber
Red mullet escabèche with Middle Eastern spices
Baby vegetable salad accompanied by truffle vinaigrette

Fresh seasonal salad

Main courses:
Lamb noisette with chocolate coffee jus and vegetable galette
Pan-seared scallops served with orange-blossom honey vinaigrette, cucumber and zucchini flan
Lasagne with eggplant caviar, tomato and frsh goat cheese

The plat du jour (by Guy Martin) was Fillet of free-range chicken with mildly spiced jus and accompanied by pearl barley

Cheese: Camembert, Fourme de Montbrison, Gratte-Paille, Saint-Maure, Comté

Fresh bakery selection

Desserts:
Petit fours frais
Chocolate pear tart, Spiced pineapple bavarois, Banana and raspberry crumble
Sorbets with cookies
Fresh fruit

Wines:
Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 1998
Barsac Château Climens 1994 Premier Cru Lurton
Mersault Clos de Corvées de Citeaux 2001 (White Burgundy)
Margaux Château Lascombes 2002 2ème Grand Cru Classé
Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2000 Michel Chapoutier

I had the foie gras and the chicken which was so moist and juicy it spilled out of your mouth as you chewed it (as, at the later dinner, was the steak). I had the Chocolate pear tart (and a sorbet and petits fours) which was superb too. Only the cheese was disappointing. It usually is, because of refrigeration.

I tried all the wines (other than the White Burgundy) and all were excellent.

I can post the dinner menu if you want, but I think you can get the general idea!

Water

"due to an equipement change, the choice of drinks is not available on this flight..."
and, of course, not "salé", nor "sucré"

I was thinking (I'm so naïve) it spend more time to check a plane before a flight than to bring a bottle of OJ on board, but probably I'm wrong...

The dessert cart alone in J sets AF apart from KL and LH. Overall AF catering is pretty decent, especially in Y. The only thing I would add in J is an additional salad course.
