Unusual Scoring

It looks like the folks at Fortune adopted some sort of scoring/ranking system from the same mathematical wizards that add up the scores for the Freddy's. While Continental is #1 in the airline category and Southwest is #2, Southwest is the #3 most admired company overall regardless of industry/vertical. If CO is #1 on the airline list, wouldn't they be above Southwest on the overall list too?

How is it that Jet Blue didn't make this list?

What does "most admired" mean, anyway?

So... if Continental is the #1 in the airline industry and Southwest is #2... how can Southwest be #3 over all industries and Continental not even in the top 20 (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortu...dmired/top20/). I call shenanigans.

Don't know for sure, but Fortune's 'Top 100 Companies to Work For' competition has to be applied for - and there are some associated costs to do so. Perhaps CO chose to apply for only the airline category? They did make the decision not to apply for the best companies to work for thing this year in order to save $$.
